Blackjack Is Like A Roller Coaster

Thursday, 1. October 2026

Blackjack is a game that reminds me somewhat of a roller coaster. It’s a game that starts slowly, but gradually gains speed. As you build up your bank roll, you feel like you are getting up to the top of the coaster and then when you are not expecting it, the bottom drops out.

Blackjack is so very similar to a roller coaster the similarities are unreal. As is the case with the popular fair ground ride, your black jack game will peak and things will appear to be going great for a time before it bottoms out one more time. You most certainly have to be a blackjack player who’s able to readjust to the ups … downs of the game given that the game of blackjack is packed full of them.

If you like the tiny coaster, a coaster that will not go too high or fast, then bet small. If you find the only way you can enjoy the ride is with a larger bet, then hop on board for the ride of your life on the monster coaster. The high rolling gambler will love the view from the monster wild ride because he/she is not thinking on the drop as they rush quickly to the top of the game.

A win goal and a loss limit works well in blackjack, but very few players adhere to it. In blackjack, if you "get on the rollercoaster" as it’s going up, that is an amazing feeling, but when the cards "go south" and the coaster starts to flip and turn, you had better bail out in a hurry.

If you don’t, you will not naturally remember how much you enjoyed life while your cash was "up". The only thing you will remember is a lot of uncertainties, a mad ride … your head in the clouds. As you are reminiscing on "what ifs", you won’t clearly remember how "high up" you went but you will recollect that disappointing drop as clear as day.
